What is the Albanian Guarantee Fund (AGF)?

One of the central components of the Italian-Albanian Programme for the development of SME-s is the 2.5 million Euro fund for the development of the Albanian Guarantee Fund.
This fund will be used to support Small and Medium Enterprises (SME-s) to obtain loans when they lack collateral.  The Italian government and the Albanian government, via the Programme Agreement and the Financial Agreement, have approved for the Albanian Guarantee Fund to be initially applied during a one-year- long Pilot Phase, with a 500.000 Euro fund.

The Albanian Guarantee Fund is managed by the Programme Management Unit (PMU), established at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Energy (METE), which manages the Programme’s Line of Credit.  The Albanian Guarantee Fund will be directly linked to the Line of Credit.
